Hey Ralph,
My only experience with MAMP is MAMP Pro, so if anything I say is off it's probably because of the differences between Free and Pro. If so, I apologize.
I'm not sure about the 7.x Free version user interface, but in 6.x Pro enabling imagack is done via the PHP section.

HTML as PHP
I'm having trouble with MAMP 7.x handling .html files as .php files on a new Mac.
I've done this for many years with previous versions of MAMP by adding the following to the httpd.conf file:
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .phtml .html
Normally, Apache (via MAMP or on Linux) treats the HTML ...

Re: *MAMP Pro 7 Release Tracking Thread*
Hi,
You've probably already done this, but in my MAMP 6.x I have PHP folders in two spots:
- /MacintoshHD/Applications/MAMP/conf/
- /MacintoshHD/Applications/MAMP/bin/php/
Only the versions of PHP folders that appear in the /MacintoshHD/Applications/MAMP/bin/php/ directory appear in the version ...

jlanpheer,
I don't run Wordpress via MAMP often so I'm not exactly experienced with what you're trying to accomplish. Because the phpinfo runs as expected I would think this is a .htaccess or WP configuration issue. That being said ...

Re: Not working on installation
ian,
Perhaps this is a permissions issue. Just as a test, what happens if you put your document root in the Applications/MAMP folder?
This test would help determine if the installation is the problem or if it's something else. I'm not suggesting this as a permanent solution. I have my document root ...

Re: Unabble to connect
I'm not sure why MAMP 7 isn't working for you.
Did you get MAMP 7 or MAMP Pro 7? If you have MAMP Pro there's a chance the MAMP tech support people will help you.
If you have MAMP Pro 7 you can contact their support here and open a ticket:

PhM1936,
Can you please post a screen grab of the actual error that you're seeing.
Also, can you connect to localhost in another browser?
Thanks,
WSG

Re: MAMP Pro v7 Release Announcement
Back on June 18th, MAMP tech support (and I use that term generously) said "as we are at the final stage of MAMP PRO 7 release."
Based on their history I think we can all take their claim with a pound of salt.

PHP fastcgi_finish_request with MAMP?
Hi,
Has anyone been able to get fastcgi_finish_request() to work in MAMP?
No matter what I've tried, when I call the function I get "Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function fastcgi_finish_request()". When I check "function_exists('fastcgi_finish_request')" it always returns false ...

Re: Leaving mamp / lack of support
I'm a long-time MAMP user and have found it to be very useful. Regretfully, I have to agree that MAMP support is dreadful, and if their product quality is as poor as their customer service then MAMP Pro 7 will be awful.
