WordPress error on install

I get the following error while trying to install WordPress from the extras in MAMP:
Permissions were set by MAMP using the Edit Permissions menu. Me as the owner and www as the group:
Any suggestions?
php v: 8.3.14
MySQL v: 8.0.40
MAMP v: 7.2
on a Mac mini M4 pro, OS v: 15.1
Internet is up and working, MAMP is running apache serving up the web-site just fine, as is the photo platform Piwigo.The installation of the extra has failed, due to an unknown reason. Please check the Internet connection, the free hard disk space or the access rights of the document root folder of the selected site. (-117)
