MAMP Pro 7.2/MySQL 8 Upgrade Help

Hi, recently updated to MAMP Pro 7.2 from 6 and am looking to copy databases individually to MySQL 8 via the MAMP Pro tool and everything seems to go swimmingly until it’s time to do the actual copy and then it says it can't start MySQL 8 so the copy fails. I am able to select MySQL 8 in settings and start MAMP Pro fine with MySQL 8 running but if I start with MySQL 5.x running and then go through the copy automator thing it seems to be a problem when it gets to the last step and tries to turn off MySQL 5 and then turn on MySQL 8. Really could use some help here. MAMP support has not been very helpful. Has anyone run into this?
