Problem with photo convertation for database

Hello everyone. I am using MAMP(port 81) and there is a such problem with web(like internet shop) site. I have used php and mysql for this. I have admin page where I check and can change my products and the problem is with UPDATE function of the product for image. To be exact the problem is with converting image into sutiuable type to send to the database.
