I was using ONEDRIVE for my htdocs folder and when I moved the folder to DROPBOX everything began working correctly.

I was using ONEDRIVE for my htdocs folder and when I moved the folder to DROPBOX everything began working correctly.

When I access the folder containing the WordPress site rather than opening the page, the browser downloads the PHP code and opens it in an old html/php editor that I have installed rather that running the page contents.

Wow - I just purchased MAMP PRO but I am beginning to re-think my decision and get a refund. There are no useful videos available for the most recent version and no one is willing to help on the forum. I will give it a couple of days, but I am leaning away from my decision to purchase MAMP PRO ...

I am having the same issue with MAMP opening only the php file contents rather that the WordPress pages. Did you ever resolve this issue? If so, would you share what helped you resolve this issue?

Laying Duplicator Pro aside -

I copied a full WordPress site into the Document Root, but I still cannot access it through MAMP. I received the same error -

This page isn’t working
localhost is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500

That leads me believe that there is a setup ...

There is very little said in the forum about WP Duplicator PRO. I installed MAMP earlier in the week because it was highly recommended over WAMP / XAMPP.

After installing it everything appeared to work correctly so I place my Duplicator ZIP and accompanying installer.php in the document root ...
