Dear MAMP Pro geeks—

After installing MAMP Pro and defining the server root directory on my Mac laptop, the following message appears from the browser when I enter 'localhost' in the browser. Has anyone seen this? Suggestions?

Opening

You have chosen to open:

which is: PHP file

from http://localost:8888

What should Firefox Developer Edition do with this file?

On my desktop machine, typing 'localhost' in the browser shows a plain html version of the home page. No css styles and no php includes. Am I missing something? Probably, huh?

Many Thanks,

Glen

I've seen this, usually has to do with a misconfig with your CMS. Are you pointing localhost to a CMS root folder or anything else? I wouldn't recommend doing that as localhost is saved for the system for other things. Create a new host and root directory in that case,
