MAMP is no longer logging errors to MAMP/logs/php_error.log.

 

(edit: I am using MAMP for a Drupal 7 local environment.)

 

phpinfo() shows that config is in /Applications/MAMP/bin/php/php7.2.1/conf/php.ini where I have logging enabled and set to log at the path mentioned above.

 

Occasionally a PDOException will get logged there, but it's so unpredictable. Not sure what else to do about this. Anyone seen this behavior and have a fix?

Did you change the permissions on the log file after editing (like clearing the contents?) Delete the log completely and restart Apache to let is re-create the log and see. Also, at least for Joomla sites, you need to have aggressive logging enabled in the backend before you may start seeing anything in this log.
