I took a peek inside my MySQL today and noticed what appeared to be a hung process running over 292 hours called
compress_gtid_table. I read about this thread on MySQL but I'm unclear why it's still running for so long.
compress_gtid_table is defined in
sql/rpl_gtid_persist.cc and reads The main function of the compression thread. Compress the gtid_executed table when get a compression signal.
I tried killing the connection but was not successful...
Error Killing Connection
Error executing KILL QUERY on thread 1: Error executing 'KILL QUERY 1'
Unknown thread id: 1.
SQL Error: 1094
MySQL_ResultSet::getDouble: can't fetch because not on result set.
I ended up restarting MySQL and the thread has not come back since. Will keep this updated.
