  2. MAMP - Troubleshooting
  3. Thursday, 23 July 2020

I installed MAMP on MacOS Catalina and everything seemed fine.

When I installed, the path for my WP folder was: user_directory/sites

I did not use the path:

applications/MAMP/htdocs

It worked fine.

Then one day I could no longer login to the WordPress dashboard. I get 404.

[ This page doesn't seem to exist.

It looks like the link pointing here was faulty. Maybe try searching? ]

So I can not edit the pages I created with Elementor Pro.

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Les

Did you confirm the host file path in MAMP? Browse the path in MAMP and see if it still gives you the 404. if it does, your missing or misconfigured files in the root directory.

Thank you for your response.  I'm not a tech or coding guy, so I don't understand what you mean by:

1. "confirm the host file path in MAMP."

2. "browse the path in MAMP."

Root directory means the WordPress folder, correct?

Hi, you need to verify what I mentioned first. Yes, verify the root directory you setup MAMP for wordpress.

You can do so in the picture below

mamp document root
